Track Name: Grief and Gravity
Well its one for the brave.
But its a whole nother story when it stumbles your way,
cuz this is it:
The one lasting thing you're gonna never forget.
Its a trip.
In every way, in every bone, its the house on the hill that ain't got nobody home.
Its ingrained like the sweet malted barley that's been calling your name like a saint.

It may just be grief that's gotten hold of me.

Well its the one, final chance for you to reap what you sow, but now there's no one at the wheel who's got control of the road.
Getting deep with a bottle of somethin hiding under the seat.
And you can keep to yourself and you can silently mourn or you can ask for help from those who've seen this shadow before.
But your weak.
And its so hard to see what he intended to be, just to pass it on and on.
I'm gonna pass it on and on.

And now every night as I'm going to sleep,
I see the same damn image in front of me.
Cuz now every time I drink,
I see his body in a basement of concrete.
And now the only person that I want to see,
is on the other fucking side of the country.
And I've never really know regret,
but I feel so sorry.

It may just be grief that's gotten hold of me.
Track Name: Shining Examples of Class and Style
We mean what we say
But we like the day to day things
But who we think that we're fooling anyways

We wander this city at night
With wallets the size of our eyes
And cast aside the shame of living a lie

We dress for life at a glance
The avenue's an old runway dance
The glamour of rips in jeans and passing romance

We mean to pretend
Of leaving some meaning and then
We rattle and whine like we're children in play pens again

And all the while we lie to our friends
And all the while we lie on our taxes...again
And all the time we try to live up to something that we Can't define

We see it in seats on the A line
Improvement so easy to find
We're broken and so we're susceptible most of the time

So we got no ethics for work
But ain't nothing that we don't deserve
If given chance we'll take what we can from the earth

And all the while we lie and why not
Yeah all the while we lie about the shit that we got
And all the time we try to live up to something that we Can't define

And all the while we lie to our friends
Yeah all the while we lie to our ourselves...yet again
And all the time we try to live up to something that we Can't define
Track Name: Simplify, Simplify
Everybody's got something on me
I got the bill collector on the line and he's on the trail of my money
And she says you don't do enough and I've got to agree
Everybody's got something on me

You better study fast now
If you're gonna try to figure me out
You better get your act down
Before you get to foolin around

Oh, oh if wishing made it so, but everybody's got something to say
I find it funny but it ain't that funny, cuz they never say that shit to your face
Just repeating what your reading in the magazine to keep the conversation safe
Everybody's got something to say

You better talk fast now
Or you ain't never getting it out
You better put that drink down
Before you try to turn it around

Oh, everybody's got a secret to keep
Well I don’t tell my lady that when I sleep I tend to cheat and be a creep
They say the Agency's a smooth operation and I've got to agree
Everybody's got a secret to keep

You better get smart now
Because the truth it finds a way to get out
You better lock that shit down
Before they try and spread it around
Cuz they will
They always try and spread it around
Track Name: These Sexy Thoughts
Don't you worry, the attention I can take
But be slow to show me the rest cuz I can wait
I'm restless only when left to look around

Its been a lonely tired right hand affair until now

I laughed at the first times when you got what you deserved
We said and did a wealth of things without the use of words
We pushed our beds together, it left room to get around

I ain’t the only one been lonely mama hold me and now

Don't you worry, the attention I can take
Be slow to show me the moves cuz this gonna end by mistake
Believe me, you're about to come around
Track Name: Young, Lazy, Talented
We've got the stare of some shiftless despair
We saw it comin we just could not prepare for the
Rollercoaster ride that don't go nowhere
And like electrons relegated
To our orbits potential fucking wasted
Give us grief cuz we've already embraced it

We won't sign no dotted line

An epidemic city wide
The second wave of cocaine and lies
Just look down Bedford somewhere around
Somewhere around midnight for the...

Starving artist and rock star parade
Broken dreams on this makeshift stage
In every bar there's a brand new star
Just waiting to shine
But it ain't your time

And we're so hip that it hurts
Doin eight balls in lines we can rehearse
Tight jeans baby and ironic t-shirts
We've got the image but there ain't nothing there
Our whole dynamic dissipates in the air
Give us death cuz we've got nothing to share
Track Name: It Is
You and I are one and the same
Sleeping dogs they lie in the way
I know what I know

I keep straight but I'm feigning the cool
This dance of fools and majority rules
I know what I know

I hold hands with a ghost on the street
Steps cautious like the end of the week
I know what I know

Drinking whiskey's never given me much
But now I'm loving all the shades of its touch
I know what I know

Like a pair of cold hands on your shoulders
Something don't feel right
And like a warm day in winter or a house full of sinners
I'm scared of what's in sight
Its been six years of questions and there's never been an answer
I guess they don't exist
So I say it is what it is

Oh mama when you walk in the room
Its like the devil sent his fallen angels up just for you
I know what I know

Baby you had better run while you can
Cuz I'm never gonna fold while I got this kinda hand
But I'll hold these cards as long as I know

But its the never knowing nothing now that keeps us at bay
But if we're watching as we're sinking from the holes of decay
Well lets go and do what we know

I been reading all the papers and its making me ill
Cuz if you're ever taken from me I'll be itching to kill
I know what I know

Like a pair of cold hands on your shoulders
Something don't feel right
And like a warm day in winter or a house full of sinners
I'll be shaken down tonight
Its been ten years of questions and there's never been no answers
I guess they don't exist
So I resign to say it is what it is
Track Name: But Some I Don't
Give me a song so slow and sweet
She say's "write one with me in mind"
Then I've seen how she stares at the ceiling and
Settles for my kind

This ain't no feigning of interest
This is the way that it is
From brooklyn to boston and back
Now i'm tired and I ain't got time for this

So I'm bound to let her down

Unless we all in denial
Unless I'm foolin myself now
I ain't gonna be no kinda money makin
Character just letting himself down

I ain't no friend of my fathers no
Playing weddings at 55
To be so scared of failure in life
That you ain't never even really tried

So I'm bound to be let down

Its that same old tired line
Now throw it back at me
Give it right back to me in time
Its that same old story line
We gonna make it

And to the games that we've given in
Of playing dress up and drinking wine
And vying for attention from a
Generation lying paralyzed

If this ain't what i been built for
Then there ain't nothing else
It ain't the bar or makin coffee
Or saving up for that house in the hills

So i'm bound to be left out
Track Name: ...And We Expected Salvation
Such a shame
How wait we wait
To be saved
To be saved
And every claim that we make to haste
Just reinforces our place
As some kind of servant class wishing
And clinging still to a vision
Of a silver bullet way to be safe
But just like all that money we put away
We can never be saved

No you ain't what you think
You're just another empty seat on the train
No you ain't what you say
No you ain't what you think
It ain't rebellion just to drink and behave
No you ain't what you say

Such a shame
How be built this straw man
Just to pick him apart to complain
And after all the talk of history made
We stayed exactly the same
Throwing tears back into tissues
Stomping our feet at the misuse
Of this polluted chamber, what did we say
There could be million ways to spin into waste
Just reinforcing our place
